Price, seconded by Comm. <br />Boyle to approve the accounts payable as <br />presented, with the addition of final <br />payment to South Coastal Construction in <br />the amount of $2,852.10. Motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />Approval of ac/s <br />payable <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />• <br />3. Mr. J. R. Spradling, 3302 Valley Brook, addressed <br />the Commission to commend them for taking an <br />aggressive stand against the Southern Pacific <br />Railroad. He stated he thought the agreement <br />presented by Mr. Sears at the last meeting was <br />very good, that Mayor Thomas and the Council <br />had done a good job, and the citizens shou]:d <br />let the Council know what kind of a job they <br />are doing. <br />J.R.SPradling <br />addressed Comm. <br />re: Railroad <br />lawsuit <br />Mayor Thomas thanked Mr. Spradling for his <br />comments and stated it was very seldom that <br />the Commission received a complement. <br />+ + + <br />4. Mrs. Evelyn Kennedy addressed the Commission in Evelyn Kennedy <br />regards to the city wide clean-up program. She addressed Comm. <br />expressed her appreciation for the cooperation re: clean-up <br />being given by the city and stated Mayor Thomas program <br />had issued a proclamation declaring the month <br />of April as "Beautification Month". She gave a <br />detailed report on the various committees engaged <br />in the program and invited the Commission to abtend <br />the next committee meeting on March 21, 1974. <br />+ + + <br />.7 <br />
