7 <br />• • <br />• <br />Regular Meeting 5/6/74 - continued <br />14. Mayor Thomas read a letter to be sent to <br />County Judge Bill Elliott and the Commission- <br />ers Court endorsing the La Porte Bayshore <br />Chamber of Commerce's endeavor to get some- <br />one from La Porte or the Bay Area appointed <br />to the Port of Houston Authority Commission. <br />Motion by Comm. Price, seconded by Comm. <br />Kibodeaux to approve Mayor Thomas sending <br />the letter to the County Judge and Comm- <br />issioners Court. Motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />• <br />15. Mayor Thomas stated that he, Comm. Christensen <br />amd Comm. Kibodeaux had been out of Fairmont <br />Park and inspected the sidewalk being replaced <br />in the ten thousand block of Cattlett Lane. He <br />stated a portion of the sidewalk was sub-standard <br />and would have to be replaced. Mayor Thomas <br />stated he had talked with Mr. McKey and Mr. Busch <br />about the sidewalk and Mr. McKey said he would do <br />whatever can be done within reason to correct it. <br />Approval of <br />Mayor's letter <br />to County <br />Judge & Comm. <br />Court,re: <br />appointment t~ <br />Port Commiss~~~ <br />Fairmont Park <br />sidewalks <br />inspected by <br />Mayor & 2 C~- <br />Mr. Busch stated the sidewalk was not acceptable <br />in the present form and suggested that the Mayor <br />and Comm. Price meet with Mr. McKey and himself <br />to inspect the sidewalk. It was agreed that they <br />would meet on Thursday, May 9th to do the inspection. <br />+ + + <br />• <br />16. Comm. Kibodeaux stated there were rumors that he <br />had been adjusting water bills without the Comm- <br />ission being notified. He stated this was not <br />true, that he had talked to other members of the <br />Commission before taking any action and that if <br />the employees in City Hall didn't have anything <br />else to do but start rumors, he could find some <br />thing for them to do. <br />Rumors of <br />water bills <br />being adjustd <br />+ + + <br />
