BRINSON SURVEY AND LOTS 1 THRU 16, BLOCK 1146, <br />TOWN OF LA PORTE, TEXAS - Upon recommendation rom <br />the Planning and Zoning Commission, motion by <br />Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Kibodeaux <br />to set a joint hearing for the proposed rezoning of <br />22.67 acres in Tract 20, Abstract 5 - E. Brinson <br />Survey and Lots 1 thru 16, Block 1146, Town of La Porte, <br />from Residential to Commercial. Motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />12. CORRESPONDENCE - (A) Mayor Thomas read a letter from <br />Thomas F. Lay, Attorney, representing Messrs.W. D. and <br />• J. F. Mayes, protesting the amount of assessment for <br />connecting to sanitary sewer according to Ordinance <br />No. 759. Property being Bayshore Lumber Company. <br />Mr. Askins informed the Commission that they would <br />have to determine whether the entire piece of property <br />was being used. <br />The individual Commissioners had checked the property. <br />It was the consensus of opinion that the entire piece <br />of property was being used for various purposes; such <br />as buildings, outside storage, parking lots, etc., and <br />for all practical purposes they were substantially using <br />all of the property involved. <br />Motion by Commissioner Christensen, seconded by <br />Commissioner Price to authorize the Attorney to notify <br />Mr. Thomas F. Lay that the assessment would remain <br />unchanged. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, and <br />Price. <br />NAYS: Commissioner Boyle. <br /> <br />
