Pruitt, <br />Fire Mars a Harris County, 1001 69th Street, <br />Houston, Texas, concerning the City-County agreement <br />regarding rural fire protection. It was stated that <br />the agreement could not be entered into as presented <br />to the City of La Porte. <br />(C) <br />Thomas read <br />as regional <br />and Bayshore <br />of which is <br />letter from the Texas Water <br />u al lu ~.llc Q V I..G1li 11GU V 1 U Gl LV V• ~ S- V V G V- V, <br />the Gulf Coast Waste Disposal Authority <br />system of waste collection for Shoreacres <br />Municipal Utility District. A copy <br />attached and made a part of these minutes. <br />Mayor Thomas stated that he had talked with a <br />State Representative Saturday and he stated that <br />there would be some hearings in this area. The <br />City must stay abreast of this or the Gulf Coast <br />Waste Disposal Authority will try and take over all <br />the smaller municipalities in this area. <br />• (D) Mayor Thomas read a letter from H. Carlos Smith, <br />requesting at least two street lights to be installed <br />on South Brownell. The only street lights in a five <br />block area are at East Main and East "E". There are <br />twenty or more homes in this area, each having several <br />children; an accident could occur very easily. <br />Mayor Thomas asked Commissioner Price if he had any <br />recommendation regarding these street lights. <br />Commissioner Price stated that he had only received <br />the letter and could not give a recommendation at this <br />time. Commissioner Price stated that he had another <br />request for a street light at North Broadway and <br />Madison. He further stated that he would check the <br />requests and would have a recommendation at the next <br />meeting. <br />+ + + <br />15. CONDITION OF WATER SUPPLY - Mayor Thomas stated that <br />Mr. Busch had been authorized to make a survey of the <br />City's water supply. <br />• <br />
