AWARD BID FOR WATER LINE REPLACEMENT ON BELFAST <br />ROAD - Mayor Thomas read a letter from Busch, <br />Hutchison & Associates, Inc., recommending the <br />contract for Water Line Replacement on Belfast <br />Road be awarded to the low bidder, South Coastal <br />Construction Company in the amount of $24,870.00. <br />A copy of the letter and bid tabulation is attached <br />and made a part of these minutes. <br />It was ascertained that before bids were authorized <br />on the water line replacement that the Commission <br />determined that the funds would be taken out of <br />the Revenue Sharing Fund. <br />• <br />Motion by Commissioner Kibodeaux, seconded by <br />Commissioner Price to award the bid for Water Line <br />on Belfast Road to the low bidder, South Coastal <br />Construction Company in the amount of $24,870.00 <br />and authorize Mayor Thomas to sign the contracts <br />after approval of the Engineer and City Attorney. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />9. CONSIDER ORDINANCE CLOSING ENTIRE ALLEY WITHIN BLOCK <br />797 - Mr. Askins stated that the appraisal had been <br />completed. The City Clerk was in receipt of the <br />checks; one payable to the Appraiser, Mr. Otis Graham, <br />in the amount of $150.00 for the appraisal and one <br />payable to the City in the amount of $720.00 for the <br />appraisal fee value of the entire alley. The files <br />have been reviewed and have the necessary consent <br />from the utility companies.- The survey. and title <br />evidence and certificates from State Wide Title as <br />to who the owners are in the block which are, Leasing <br />Services, Long Realty and La Porte School District. <br />Letters are in the file from the three entities, each <br />consenting to the closing. All the requirements, <br />under the ordinance have been met• <br />U <br />
