DISCUSSION OF DEPARTMENT PROJECTS - (A) Commissioner <br />Kibodeaux asked about the Cresentview water line. It <br />was determined that the project was not yet completed. <br />(B) STEAM CLEANING MACHINE - Mr. Morton requested the <br />Commission to consi er the purchase of a steam cleaning <br />machine. The old machine was worn out and quotes had <br />been received. A suitable machine could be purchased <br />for $845.00. Mr. Morton asked that this be considered <br />as an emergency item because this machine was used for <br />cleaning the garbage trucks as well as the garbage <br />containers, plus general use at the City Barn. The <br />garbage trucks and garbage containers must of necessity <br />be cleaned regularly. <br />Mr. Broussard stated that Commissioner Christensen <br />• had sent word that it was his recommendation that <br />the Commission consider the purchase of a steam <br />cleaning machine, due to the emergency. <br />The City Commission hereby determines that an emergency <br />exists and it is imperative for public necessity to <br />dispense with the normal bidding procedure and authorize <br />the purchase of a steam cleaning machine. <br />Motion by Commissioner Kibodeaux, seconded by Commissioner <br />Boyle to declare an emergency and authorize the purchase <br />of a steam cleaning machine from Action Cleaning Equipment <br />Company in the amount of $845.00. Motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Kibodeaux, Price, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />CJ <br />• <br />
