PUBLIC HEARING - PUBLIC LAW 92-500 GRANT APPLICATION - <br />Mayor Thomas read the format of the hearing in ull. <br />The purpose of the Public Hearing was to receive testimony <br />on a proposal by the City of La Porte to make certain changes <br />in the existing sewage treatment system. Another purpose <br />of the Hearing was to discuss the potential environmental <br />impacts of the project and alternatives to it. <br />Mayor Thomas conducted the Hearing and upon calling for <br />persons wishing to testify found only the following: <br />Mr. James P. Hutchison, P. E. <br />1107 Fleetwood Drive <br />Baytown, Texas 77520 <br />Mayor Thomas administered the following oath to the witness: <br />"Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and <br />nothing but the truth?" <br />Mr. Hutchison answered the oath in the affirmative and <br />proceeded to review an environmental assessment of the <br />• proposed project. The assessment was one he had prepared <br />for the City of La Porte to meet the requirements of <br />Public Law 92-500 in making a federal grant request. A <br />copy of the assessment, which represents the text of Mr. <br />Hutchison's testimony, is attached, and made a part of <br />these minutes. <br />Also attached are copies of the Public Hearing Notice, a <br />list of those entities notified of the Public Hearing, <br />affidavits verifying publication in the Houston Chronicle <br />and the Bayshore Sun, and a statement that the Hearing was held <br />in conformance with the Notice. <br />There being no one else desiring to be heard, the hearing <br />was declared close. <br />+ + + <br />4.
