• Regular Meeting 4/7/75 g <br />18. CORRESPONDENCE - Mayor Thomas read a letter of resignation <br />from Mr. James Crate, Communications Officer, dated <br />March 21, 1975. <br />Motion by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner <br />Christensen to accept the resignation of Mr. James Crate <br />as Communications Officer for the City of La Porte. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, and <br />Price. <br />NAYS: None. <br />ABSENT: Commissioner Boyle. <br />+ + + <br />19. DISCUSSION OF EMPLOYEE WALKOUT - Mayor Thomas stated that <br />the Public Works Director had come with an employee that <br />had walked out, and had asked that he be rehired. Mayor <br />Thomas asked that the Commission make a decision as to <br />• whether or not they would rehire any of the employees that <br />walked out. <br />Motion by Commissioner Christensen, seconded by Commissioner <br />Kibodeaux that the City not rehire any of the employees that <br />chose to walkout. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />and Price. <br />NAYS: None. <br />ABSENT: Commissioner Boyle. <br />+ + + <br />20. DISCUSSION OF DEPARTMENT PROJECTS - Mr. J. Busch informed <br />the Commission that work had still not yet begun on the <br />water well. The time element is such that the City might <br />wish to contact the bonding company. <br />+ + + <br />• <br />
