CORRESPONDENCE - Mayor Thomas read a letter dated April 15, <br />1975, from Mr. Otis Graham appraising an alley requested to <br />be closed by Southern Pacific. <br />It was determined that no action would be taken at this <br />time due to the fact the necessary fee had not been paid <br />for this closing request. <br />(B) Mr. Tom Simons was recognized and invited the Commissioners <br />and anyone desiring to attend, to see a film being shown at <br />the school on paramedics and what the E.M.T.'s are trying <br />to do in La Porte. Said film to be shown at 9:30 P.M. <br />+ + + <br />• <br />10. DISCUSSION OF DEPARTMENT PROJECTS - Mr. A. J. Busch <br />updated the Commission on the water well project and <br />the sanitary sewer project. <br />+ + + <br />11. EXECUTIVE SESSION - VATS - ARTICLE 6252-17, SECTION 2 (G) - <br />Motion by Commissioner Kibodeaux, seconded by Commissioner <br />Cline that the meeting recess for an executive session, <br />VATS, Article 6252-17, Section 2 (G). Motion carried by <br />the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Kibodeaux, Cline and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />The meeting recessed at 7:26 P.M. <br />The meeting reconvened at 8:18 P.M. <br />Mayor Thomas stated that there had been a discussion <br />regarding payment of sick leave and vacation time. It <br />was the consensus of the majority of the Commission that <br />if any time, vacation time, or sick leave was due anyone, <br />it was the duty of the City to pay this amount to any of <br />the employees that had walked out on March 27, 1975. <br />The City Attorney was of the opinion that the City did <br />owe vacation time and sick leave time to certain employees <br />that had walked out. <br />• <br />
