• Regular Meeting 5/19/75 2 <br />3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING MAY 5, 1975 - Motion by <br />Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Commissioner Cline to approve <br />the minutes of the regular meeting of May 5, 1975, as corrected <br />as follows: Delete the word "RATIFY" authorizing the Fire <br />Chief to obtain five pagers in Item 11. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />4. APPROVAL OF ACCOUNTS PAYABLE - The Director of Finance <br />recommended that the Nixdorf payable be corrected to read <br />$17,997.00, rather than $22,997.00. The $5,000.00 amount <br />to be retained until all programs were completed and approved <br />by the City. <br />• Motion by Commissioner Cline, seconded by Commissioner Boyle to <br />approve the accounts payable as presented, with the correction <br />of Nixdorf to $17,997.00. The $5,000.00 amount to be retained <br />until all programs are completed and approved by the City. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />5. VISITORS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE COMMISSION - Mayor Thomas asked <br />if the meeting had been posted according to law? The City <br />Clerk affirmed. <br />A. JOHN P. ZEMANEK, 3102 VALLEY BROOK - LACK OF INTEREST IN <br />YOUTH OF LA PORTE - Mr. Zemanek was recognized and addressed <br />the Commission. Mr. Zemanek was of the opinion that the <br />City lacked interest in the youth of La Porte. There was <br />a lengthy discussion regarding the need of additional <br />ball fields. <br />B. AL PENA, 920 S. UTAH - NO BASEBALL FACILITIES THAT CAN BE <br />USED - Mr. Pena was recognized and addressed the Commission. <br />• Mr. Pena expressed the need for additional ball fields <br />or police protection for the ball field on the north side <br />to be used. Mr. Pena informed the Commission that the fees <br />charged were used for purchasing uniforms, equipment and paying <br />umpires. <br />
