JOINT PUBLIC HEARING - CONSIDER REZONING THE EAST ONE-HALF <br />OUTLOT 14, NEBRASKA SYNDICATE - FROM RESIDENTIAL TO <br />COMMERCIAL FOR NURSING HOME USE ONLY - Mayon Thomas asked <br />i t ere were any present to speak against rezoning of <br />this area; there were none. Mayor Thomas then recognized <br />Mr. J. P. Bonnett who spoke for rezoning for nursing <br />home use only, and explained the proposed facility <br />would be a 60 bed home with room for future expansion. <br />After a meeting of the Planning and Zoning Board, Mr. <br />Walter Roberson recommended rezoning of this property. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Kibodeaux, seconded by <br />Commissioner Cline to rezone the east one-half of Outlot 14, <br />Nebraska Syndicate. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />• <br />+ + + <br />4. JOINT PUBLIC HEARING - CONSIDER REZONING THE EAST ONE- <br />HALF OF BLOCK 645, ALL OF BLOCKS 646, 647, 64$; THE EAST <br />ONE-HALF" OF BLOCK 652, ALL OF BLOCKS 651', 650, 649; THE <br />EAST ONE-HALF OF BLOCK 681, ALL OF BLOCKS 68'2,683,684; <br />THE EP,ST ONE'-HALF OF BLOCK 688, ALL OF BLOCKS 687, 6'86, <br />AND 6$5, TOWN OF LA PORTE FROM RESIDENTIP;L TO COMMERCIAL, <br />AND NO SPECIAL USE'PERMITS ALLOWED - Mayor Thomas asked <br />if t ere were any present w o opposed rezoning the above. <br />Mr. Lloyd Jones, 1320 West Tyler, La Porte, Texas, discussed <br />his opposition to rezoning of Blocks 649 and 650. <br />Mayor Thomas then asked if there were any present to speak <br />for rezoning this area, Mr. Walter Roberson spoke for <br />it, explaining that the area was surrounded by commercially <br />zoned areas. <br />The Planning and Zoning Board then met and Mr. Roberson <br />stated it was their recommendation this area be rezoned <br />commercial. <br />• <br />
