• • <br />• <br />Regular Meeting 11/3/75 ~ <br />RATE INCREASE FOR HOUSTON LIGHTING & POWER COMPANY - The <br />City Attorney gave a brief opinion regarding the proposed <br />rate increase of Houston Lighting & Power Company. A copy <br />of his letter is attached and made a part of these minutes. <br />8. CONSIDER APPROVING ORDINANCE N0. 1026 REGARDING PROPOSED <br />Mr. J~. L. Wyatt, Houston Lighting & Power Company gave <br />a brief opinion regarding the Light Company's position <br />in regard to the rate increase. <br />After a general discussion, Commissioner Love moved that <br />on Page 2, Section 1, Line, after Company, add: .09428 <br />to the proposed ordinance. <br />Motion failed for lack of a second. <br />After the proposed ordinance was read in full, motion <br />by Commissioner Cline, seconded by Commissioner Boyle <br />to adopt Ordinance No. 1026 as read. Motion carried by <br />the following vote: <br />• <br />AYES: Commissioners Cline and Boyle. <br />NAYS: Commissioner Love. <br />Mayor Pro-Tem Kibodeaux voted aye. <br />CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY. OF LA PORTE, SUSPENDING <br />THE APPLICATION OF CITY OF LA PORTE ORDINANCE 966, WHICH ADOPTED <br />AND APPROVED CERTAIN RATE SCHEDULES FOR SERVICE BY HOUSTON <br />LIGHTING & POWER COMPANY; AND ADOPTING AND APPROVING THE RATE <br />SCHEDULES TO BE KNOWN AS SCHEDULE RS-1 AND SCHEDULE MGS-1 <br />SET FORTH IN EXHIBIT "A" AND EXHIBIT "B" AS ATTACHED HERETO <br />MADE A PART HEREOF BY REFERENCE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE FOR SUCH RATES; MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT; AND PROVIDING FOR <br />THE TERMINATION OF THE RATES PROVIDED FOR IN THIS ORDINANCE. <br />• <br />+ + + <br />18. CORRESPONDENCE - There was a brief discussion regarding the <br />carpet for the Library. <br />MEXICAN DELEGATION - Commissioner Cline updated the Commission <br />regarding the Mexican Delegation due to be in La Porte on <br />December 6, 7, 8, and 9th, and informed everyone that a special <br />bank account had been established at Bayshore National Bank. <br />
