• Regular Meeting 11/17/75 4 <br />8. CONSIDER APPROVING ORDINANCE NO. 1027 VACATING, ABANDONING <br />AND CLOSING THE ALLEYS IN BLOCKS 652 AND 681, TOWN OF <br />LA PORTE - After the proposed ordinance was read in full, <br />motion y Commissioner Cline, seconded by Commissioner Boyle <br />to approve Ordinance No. 1027 as read. Motion carried by <br />the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Cline, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING <br />THE ALLEYS LYING WITHIN BLOCKS SIX HUNDRED FIFTY- <br />TWO (652) AND SIX HUNDRED EIGHTY-ONE (681) IN THE <br />TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS. <br />9. CONSIDER APPROVING LETTER TO U. S. ATTORNEY GENERAL ON VOTING <br />RIGHTS ACT OF 1975 - After a brief discussion, motion by <br />Commissioner Love, seconded by Commissioner Boyle to approve <br />• the letter to U. S. Attorney General on Voting Rights Act of <br />1975. A copy is attached and made a part of these minutes. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Cline, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />10. CONSIDER HOUSTON LIGHTING & POWER COMPANY'S PIPE LINE REQUEST <br />After a brief discussion, motion by Commissioner Cline, seconded <br />by Commissioner Boyle to authorize the Attorney to write a letter <br />to Houston Lighting & Power Company stating that the City had no <br />objection to the Pipe Line, but they would be required to comply <br />with our Pipe Line Ordinance for their permit. Motion carried by <br />the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Cline, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />
