Box 1115 <br />Gentlemen and Mrs. Cline: <br /> <br />Mr. Walter Queen, City Attorney for Lomax, telephoned me <br />recently, and requested that the City of La Porte disannex <br />the three additional outlots at the Northwest end of the <br />Northwest-Southeast runway of La Porte Municipal Airport. <br />He said it would be necessary for Lomax to have this <br />property, in order to have a continuous strip of land, <br />to meet the requirements of the Municipal Annexation Act. <br />• In addition, he requested an ordinance waiving La Porte's <br />extraterritorial jurisdiction, on this, and the territory <br />previously disannexed, so that it may be annexed by Lomax. <br />He indicated that consents to waive extraterritorial juris- <br />diction have been obtained from other cities in the area, and <br />only La Porte's is lacking. <br />The request for the consent for waiver of extraterritorial <br />jurisdiction is certainly in order. However, Mr. Busch and I <br />would like to have the opportunity to have further discussion <br />with the full City Commission, before the disannexation of <br />the three outlots. You will recall that it was our joint advice <br />that the City of La Porte retain jurisdiction over these outlots, <br />for purposes of future expansion of the subject airport runway. <br />I have asked Ivirs.
