• • <br />• Regular Meeting 8/16/76 <br />6. CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION - MR. WALTER ROBERSON - Mayor <br />Meza presented Mr. Walter Roberson a plaque expressing <br />appreciation for his eighteen years service as a member of <br />the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of La Porte. <br />Pictures were taken. <br />+ + + <br />7. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING - AUGUST 2, 1976 - <br />Motion y Commissioner Simons, seconded by Commissioner <br />Cline to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of <br />August 2, 1976, as presented. Motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />6 <br />• 8. APPROVAL OF ACCOUNTS PAYABLE - Motion by Commissioner Cline, <br />seconded y Commissioner Simons to approve the accounts <br />payable as presented. A copy is attached and made a part of <br />these minutes. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />9. VISITORS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE COMMISSION - Mrs. Johnny <br />R. Reed, 430 South 7th was recognized and addressed the <br />Commission regarding a water bill she received from the <br />City in the amount of $71.40, requesting consideration <br />be given for an adjustment. Mrs. Reed further informed <br />the Commission that her home was built in February and the <br />bill resulted from a broken water line. <br />It was the consensus of opinion that Mrs. Reed's contractor <br />was responsible for one year after completion of the home <br />and should be contacted. <br />• The City Attorney was of the opinion that Houston Home <br />Builders Association or the Small Claims Court might be <br />contacted if the contractor did not wish to bear the expense. <br />+ + + <br />
