CONSIDER APPROVING PROPOSED ORDINANCE N0. 1087 - APPOINTING <br />CHARTER REVISION COMMITTEE - Mayor Meza asked that the following <br />be appointed as the Charter Revision Committee: H. P. Pfeiffer, <br />Chairman; Marilyn Kelley, Bob Davis, H. Carlos Smith, Robert <br />White, Dennis Dunham, Gracie Gonzales, Jack Gresham. <br />Commissioner Tomerlin requested the names of Bob McCarty and <br />W. S. Love be considered. It was the consensus that Mr. McCarty <br />had other commitments. His name was deleted. <br />Mayor Meza asked for an opinion from the Attorney regarding those <br />persons to be considered for the Charter Revision Committee. <br />The Attorney was of the opinion that persons being politically <br />active at this time or plans to become politically active in <br />the near future, not be appointed to this Committee. <br />Commissioner Tomerlin asked Mr. W. S. Love if he had political <br />plans for the future. Mr. Love stated that he did. Commissioner <br />Tomerlin withdrew Mr. Love's name. <br />After the proposed ordinance was read in full, motion by <br />Commissioner Cline, seconded by Commissioner Simons to approve <br />• Ordinance No. 1087 as read. Motion carried by the following <br />vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING~A CHARTER REVISION COMMITTEE; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />+ + + <br />12. CONSIDER CALLING SPECIAL MEETING ON AUGUST 31, 1977, AT 7:00 P.M. <br />TO ACCEPT BIDS FOR NEW CITY HALL - Motion by Commissioner <br />Kibodeaux, seconded by Commissioner Cline to call a special <br />meeting on August 31, 1977, at 7:00 P.M. to accept bids for <br />the new City Hall. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />• <br />
