<br />~,,.~~ 000) population according .to the last preceding Federal Census may

<br />yK,,._ be consolidated under one government with an adjoining and contigu-
<br />.~.,.~%... ous city having a population of more than five thousand (5,000) in-

<br />~.:n Yom, habitants according to the last preceding Federal Census, when both
<br />;~"~"`=~' of said municipalities are situated in the same county having a poplzla-
<br />~`~~~` "-r~tion of.more than three hundred thousand (300,000) inhabitants ac-

<br />~~:~._.;~_ 15 of Title 28, Revised Civil Statutes of 1925; and any notice, declara=
<br />~`"~~_'° tion, certificate or other act required to be done or purporting to have"

<br />been done by any Mayor., Councilman, Commissioner, Alderman, City
<br />~~~~ Secretary or City Clerk in compliance with the statutory requisites of

<br />'~~'-• `Chapter 15 of Title 28, Revised Civil Statutes of 1925 shall have the
<br />~"~{:''_: same legal effect as if there had then existed a law authorizing each
<br />is'~i`?,:"..act to have been done and-authorizing cities, towns and villages of less
<br />~.: -
<br />~";~~y~ than five .thousand (5,000) .population to consolidate. Any election
<br />~<;~r>_' held prior to the enactment of this Act submitting the question of con-
<br />~~>t aolidation to the qualified voters of cities or towns authorized to con-
<br />:`~~,=: solidate by this Act, shall in all things be deemed a legal and valid elec-
<br />,~~~~.,;;tion as if this law had been in existence on the date ~of such election;
<br />;~~4`_:- provided the requirements of law applicable to consolidation of cities
