CONSIDER REQUEST TO VACATE, ABANDON AND CLOSE THE ALLEYS <br />IN BLOCKS 825 AND 832, AND THE SOUTH 325 FEET OF THE ALLEY <br />IN BLOCK 796, TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COITNTY, TEXAS - <br />After a brief discussion, motion by Commissioner Tomerlin, <br />seconded by Commissioner Kibodeaux to give tentative approval <br />and authorize the City Clerk to send letters to utility <br />companies for the closure of Blocks 825 and 832 and asked <br />that permission be obtained for the closure of all of Block <br />796, rather than only a portion of that alley. Motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />19. CONSIDER AUTHORIZING ADVERTISING AND ACCEPTING BIDS FOR <br />MOWING PRIVATE PROPERTY TO BE RECEIVED UNTIL 5:0'0 P.M., <br />ON APRIL 3, 1978, TO BE OPENED AND PUBLICLY READ AT 7:00 P.M. <br />Motion by Commissioner Tomerlin, seconded by Commissioner <br />• Kibodeaux to authorize advertising and accepting bids for <br />Mowing Private Property to be received until 5:00 P.M. on <br />April 3, 1978, to be opened and publicly read at 7:00 P.M. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />20. DISCUSS CONCESSION STANDS - After a brief discussion regarding <br />the concession stands at Fairmont Park and the Swimming Pool, <br />motion by Commissioner Simons, seconded by Commissioner Kibodeaux <br />to authorize the Director of Parks & Recreation to negotiate with <br />the Baseball Association for the. operation of the concession <br />stands and then bring back a contract for approval by the <br />Commission. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />• <br />
