CONSIDER APPROVING UTILITY E'XTENSI'ON P,GREEMENT WITH P P G <br />INDUSTRIES - The City Administrator stated that this agreement <br />would be extending a sanitary sewer line on 16th Street to <br />Chemetron. PPG Industries would bear the full cost with the <br />provision for reimbursement if anyone should tie onto said line <br />within the next ten years. <br />Motion by Commissioner Kibodeaux, seconded by Commissioner <br />Simons to approve the utility extension agreement with P P G <br />Industries. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />A copy of the agreement is attached and made a part of these <br />minutes. <br />+ + + <br />8. CONSIDER GRANTING VARIANCE REQUEST~OF ST. MARY'S CHURCH FOR <br />VARIANCE TO ALLOW A PORTABLE BUILDING TO BE USED TO OPERATE <br />CLOTH'IN'G AND FURNITURE STORE - 816 PARK - After a brief discussion, <br />motion by Commissioner Cline, seconded by Commissioner Simons to <br />grant a variance to St. Mary's Church to allow a portable building <br />to be used to operate a clothing and furniture store, as recommended <br />by the Planning and Zoning Commission. A copy of the recommendation <br />is attached and made a part of these minutes. Motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />• NAYS: Commissioner Tomerlin <br />Just before the end of the meeting, Commissioner Tomerlin clarified <br />his nay vote. A vote was not called for for nays. He stated he had <br />reservations about allowing the building variance because it was out <br />of compliance with the regular ordinance. <br />• <br />
