It is understood and <br />appreciated that the answers to these and other issues are <br />important and must be considered by any entity contemplating <br />a situation of this nature. Because of the complexity and <br />impact of your contemplated action, simple yes or no answers <br />to your questions are not possible. <br />• I would like to suggest that our two Councils convene a <br />joint meeting to discuss this matter. Following that meeting, <br />if desirable, I would suggest that a joint committee consisting <br />of two members of each Council, working with the staff of each <br />City, begin a joint effort to determine the advantages, dis- <br />advantages, and alternatives related to the possible annexa- <br />tion and/or consolidation of Lomax and La Porte. This committee <br />could then report back to the two Councils on their findings <br />and recommendations. <br />1f you agree with my thinking, please contact me at your <br />earliest convenience so we can set a date and time for the <br />initial meeting. <br />Si <br />J.
