CONSIDER ACCEPTING OFFER OF PURCHASE FOR BLOCK 31, LOT 11, LA PORTE ADDITION - MICHAEL HICKS - IN THE AMOUNT OF $740.00 - The Administrator stated that there had been a clarification memo prepared regarding the bid on tax property, Lot 11, Block 31, La Porte Addition; stating that when the suit was filed on two parcels. La Porte Independent School District was served and intervened in the suit. However, the School did not enter an amount due for taxes on Block 31, Lot 11. As a result this does not appear in the judgment. In consulting with the Tax Attorney, Mr. John Coolidge, he stated that if the School did not make this parcel of property a part of their intervention, the school looses the tax due on this property. Motion by Commissioner Simons, seconded by Commissioner Cline to accept the offer of purchase for Block 31, Lot 11, La Porte Addition from Mr. Michael Hicks in the amount of $740.00. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. NAYS: None. + + + 12. RATIFY AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION WITH FAIRMONT PARK JOINT VENTURE IN CONSTRUCTION OF FARRINGTON BOULEVARD IN THE AMOUNT OF $58,847.00. ($53,000 FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND AND $5,847 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT CONTINGENCY FUND) - Motion by Commissioner Tomerlin, seconded by Commissioner Simons to ratify authorizing participation with Fairmont Park Joint Venture in construction of Farrington Boulevard in the amount of $58,847.00. $53,000.00 from the Capital Improve- ment Fund and $5,847.00 from the Capital Improvement Contingency Fund. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. NAYS: None. + + +
