• <br />• Regular Meeting 2/6/80 9 <br />11. COUNCIL ACTION - A. Commissioner Cline asked about the <br />status of the study by A & M on the Planning and Zoning Ordinance. <br />The Administrator stated that A & M was ready to come back and <br />meet with the officials. <br />Commissioner Cline stated that she felt that it was a document <br />that needed to be read section by section and piece by piece; <br />felt it should be at work shop and it would be a lengthy meeting. <br />B. Commissioner Simons stated that he had been approached by <br />members of the Fire Department to buy a Jaws of Life to get <br />people out of cars, planes, etc. <br />Commissioner Cline stated that the cost of $8,500 (approximate) <br />should be budgeted. <br />Commissioner Simons felt that the need for it was now, if one <br />life were saved, it would pay for itself; the men have been <br />trained at A & M to use one. <br />The Administrator stated that there was $100,000 in Revenue <br />• Sharing and the funds could be appropriated from that fund. <br />It was moved by Commissioner Simons, seconded by Commissioner <br />Kibodeaux to authorize preparation of plans and specifications, <br />authorize advertising and accepting of bids for one Jaws of Life <br />and the funds to be appropriated from the Revenue Sharing Fund. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />C. Mayor Meza stated that the officials had received an invita- <br />tion to the Nassau Bay Open House at their new building on <br />Sunday, February 10, 1980, at 2:00 P.M. <br />+ + + <br />12.
