i • <br />• Joint Public Hearing, La Porte City Council and the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission, February 18, 1981, Page 3 <br />Planning & Zoning Chairman Pat Muston read, "In considering <br />Mr. C. R. Jessie's request for rezoning of Outlot 90, Plan- <br />ning & Zoning noted that the subject block and the adjacent <br />block, Outlot 90~, are sandwiched between industrial prop- <br />erty on the South and commercial property to the North. <br />Such a location is not suitable for residential use. <br />Planning & Zoning recommends both Blocks 90 and 90~ be <br />rezoned from Residential to Commercial." <br />"In the second case we have heard tonight, Planning & <br />Zoning approves of the concept of such a townhome develop- <br />ment, but under our present ordinance, we have no framework <br />for such development. <br />Planning & Zoning recommends rezoning the property from <br />R-1 to C-Apartment and Commercial with a special use permit <br />limiting it to a Planned Unit Development consisting of <br />81 townhomes according to the conceptual plat of Shady <br />Harbor Townhomes." <br />Mayor Meza thanked the Planning & Zoning Commission for their <br />time and dedication and entertained a motion to adjourn the <br />. Joint Public Hearing. Motion to adjourn by Councilman <br />Tomerlin, seconded by Councilman Kibodeaux. The motion <br />car- red, 4 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilman Tomerlin, Councilman Kibodeaux, Council- <br />woman Cline, Councilman Simons <br />Nays: None <br />The meeting was duly adjourned at 8:30 P.M. <br />Mayor Meza declared the La Porte City Council to be in <br />session at 8:30 P.M. <br />1. The first order of business is to consider approving the <br />minutes of the Regular Meeting of the La Porte City Council <br />held February 4, 1981. <br />Motion was made by Councilwoman Cline to approve the <br />minutes as presented. Seconded by Councilman imons. The <br />motion carried, 3 ayes, 0 nays and 1 abstain. <br />Ayes: Councilman Kibodeaux, Councilwoman Cline, Councilman <br />Simons <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilman Tomerlin due to his absence from the <br />• meeting. <br />2. Mr. Bob Biarnesen of Rustic Gate spoke to the City Council <br />concerning the repair of City equipment. Mr. Biarnesen <br />expressed concern for police officers on the streets being <br />
