Seconded by Councilperson Simons. <br />The motion carried, 4 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, Simons <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />13. <br /> <br />Mayor Meza asked for the recommendation from Planning and <br />Zoning concerning the rezoning request of lots 1, 2, 37 and 38, <br />block 3 of the Pine grove Valley Subdivision from R-l to Commercial <br />for Mr. N. Kelly Jones. <br /> <br />Chairperson Muston spoke for Planning and Zoning and stated the <br />property is located on Sens Road in the former City of Lomax. <br />It held a commercial classification prior to the consolidation <br />and Planning and Zoning finds it well suited for such use. <br /> <br />City Attorney Askins read Ordinance No. 780KKK: AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 780, THE CITY OF LA PORTE ZONING ORDI- <br />NANCE, BY CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION OF THAT CERTAIN PARCEL <br />OF LAND HEREIN DESCRIBED; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Cline to accept and adopt <br />Ordinance No. 780KKK rezoning from residential to commercial, <br />lots 1, 2, 37 and 38, Block 3, Pinegrove Valley Subdivision.' <br />Seconded by Councilperson Tomerlin. The motion carried, 4 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, Simons <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />14. Administrative Reports: <br /> <br />City Manager Hudgens reported the contractor who was awarded <br />the bid for refurbishing the water storage tanks will move in on <br />the job next week (April 6, 1981). <br /> <br />Hudgens reported all projects now under contract will be re- <br />viewed at the April 8, 1981, workshop and there will be an up- <br />date from Cablevision. <br /> <br />15. Council Action: <br /> <br />Councilperson Tomerlin asked for a brief executive session for <br />Council only. <br />
