SOLUTION N0. 81-/!7 <br />WHEREAS the City of La Porte pursuant to a Charter <br />Election expanding the City Council from five (5) to nine <br />(9) members was passed and approved by the Citizens of <br />La Porte, Texas on August 23, 1980; <br />And , ~ <br />WHEREAS the first election under the new charter seating <br />the nine (9) member Council was consumated in April 4, 1981; <br />And, <br />WHEREAS, existing office space for the Council is <br />limited to one (1) office for- the Mayor and five (5) <br />offices for eight (8) Councilpersons; <br />And, <br />WHEREAS it is the intent and policy of this Council <br />that the expenditure of Public Funds is not justified to <br />provide additional Council office space; <br />And, _ - <br />Further more it is the intent and policy of this Council <br />that all Councilpersons.receive equal space. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT office space shall be <br />assigned by position as follows and as depicted on the <br />attached plat: <br />Office ~~l-District 1 and 2 <br />Office ~~2-District 3 and At Large A <br />Office ~~3-Mayor <br />Office X64-District 4 and 5 <br />Office 4~5-District 6 and At Large B <br />Office 4~6-Caucus Room/Conference Room <br />PASSED and APPROVED this the 20th day of May, 1981. <br />J.
