Meeting called tc~ girder by Mayor Meza at 7:00 P.M. <br />Members of the City Council Present: Mayor Meza, Council- <br />persons John Longley, Gus Faris, I. J. Kibodeaux, Deotis Gay, <br />Don Skelton, Linda Westergren <br />Members of the City Council Absent: Councilpersons Norman <br />Malone and Tom Simons <br />City Officials Present: City Manager J. R. Hudgens, City <br />Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Betty Waters, Police <br />Chief H. F. Freeman, Inspector Lamar Hollaway, Fire Chief <br />Joe Sease, Fire Marshal Paul Hickenbottom <br />Others Present: Jim Hutchison and Dave Corbin of Busch, <br />Hutichison & Associates; Keith Johnson of the Bayshore Sun; <br />• Freida Beaty of the Baytown Sun; John Armstrong, Associate <br />City Attorney. There were 10 citizens present in the Council <br />Chambers. <br />A motion was made <br />• <br />onded by Councilperson Longley. The <br />0 nays . <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Longley, Faris, <br />Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />rove and <br />rney. Sec- <br />, 7 ayes and <br />2. The invocation was presented by City Attorney Askins <br />3. Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to accept the minutes <br />of the Joint Public Hearing and the Regular Meeting of t e aL <br />Porte City Counci e on Ju y 15, 8 Seconded y Council- <br />person Faris. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Longley, Faris, Kibodeaux, Gay, Skelton, <br />Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />4. City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE <br />NO. 1000 OF THE CITY OF LA PO RTE, TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE AREAS <br />WHERE BEER FOR CONSUMPTION ON THE PREMISES MAY BE SOLD AND PRO- <br />HIBITING THE SALE ELSEWHERE; PROVIDING FOR HOURS OF OPENING <br />AND CLOSING; PROVIDING SALE OF BEER FOR CONSUMPTION OFF PREMI- <br />SES SHALL NOT BE AFFECTED; DEFINING SOURCE OF AUTHORITY; PRO- <br />VIDING THAT NO LICENSE SHALL BE ISSUED EXCEPT FOR THE AREAS <br />HEREIN DESIGNATED; 2104 UNDERWOOD ROAD (THE DOMES)" <br />Kibodeaux, Gay, Skelton <br />
