Council considered a report from Director of Public Works <br />Hodge concerning problems with water well #2 at Fairmont <br />Park and requesting an emergency be declared for repairs <br />since the loss of this well affects the entire system. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Simons to declare an <br />emergency and authorize repairs for water we Second <br />by Councilperson Gay. The motion carried, 9 ayes.and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris, Latimer, <br />Simons, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />12. Council considered an invoice from Layne Texas Company for <br />repairs to water well #2 at Fairmont Park in the amount of <br />• $15,257.48. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Simons authorizing payment <br />of the Layne Texas Company invoice in t e amount of 15,257.48 <br />from the Water and Sewer Contingency Fund. Second by <br />Councilperson Gay. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris, Latimer, <br />Simons, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />13. City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING ANDY <br />WILSON TO THE UNEXPIRED TERM OF LINDSAY PFETFFER, ON THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION, AND PRO- <br />VIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to pass and appro~ <br />Ordinance No. 1300 as read y the City Attorney. Second by <br />Councilperson Simons. T e motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris, Latimer, <br />Simons, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />14. City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING JOHN RIVARD <br />TO THE UNEXPIRED TERM OF ANDY WILSON, ON THE CITY OF LA PORTE <br />ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF . <br />
