~ • <br /> <br />i <br />ORDINANCE N0. <br />AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE RESULTS OF AN ELECTION ON THE <br />QUESTION OF LEGALIZING BINGO GAMES FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN <br />THE CITY OF LA PORTS; HELD IN THE CITY OF LA PORTS ON APRIL 3, <br />1982. <br />WHEREAS, there was held in the City of La Porte, on the <br />3rd day of April, 1982, an election on the question of legal- <br />izing bingo games for charitable purposes as authorized by the <br />Texas Bingo Enabling Act in the City of La Porte; and <br />WHEREAS, there were cast at said election for and against <br /> <br />such question, the following votes: <br />FOR Legalizing bingo games for charitable purposes as author- <br />ized by the Bingo Enabling Act in the City of La Porte: <br />-sue/ <br />AGAINST Legalizing bingo games for charitable purposes as <br />authorized by the Bingo Enabling Act in the City of <br />La Porte: <br />~i ,r ; ~"_ <br />• <br /> <br />as shown in the official election returns heretofore delivered <br />by the Election Judge and officials to the Mayor and City <br />Council of the City of La Porte and submitted to the City <br />Council. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTS: <br />Section 1. That said election was duly called and notice <br />thereof given in accordance with law; that said election was <br />held in the manner required by law; that due returns of said <br />election have been made by the proper officers; that said <br />returns have been canvassed by the City Council of the City of <br />La Porte; that a majority of the qualified voters who voted <br />have voted ,,=~ ' D Y legalizing bingo games for charitable <br />purposes as authorized by the Texas Bingo Enabling Act in the <br />City of La Porte, Texas. <br />
