Council considered authorization of payment of the increased costs of employee insurance for the remainder of the 1981-82 fiscal year with Business Men's Assurance, Tnc. City Manager Owen stated that with certain interdepartmental and intradepartmental transfers authorized by City Council, there would be adequate budgeted funds to cover the increases in the employee insurance. A motion was made by Councilperson Skelton authorizing payment of the new rates for employee insurance with Business Men's Assurance for the remaining months of the 1981-8 fisca year and further authorizing the necessary inter epartmenta an intradepartmental transfers to provi e necessary un s to • meet t e insurance o igations. S e ton urt er instructed staff to research possibilities for service for the proposed 1982-83 budget. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Westergren. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. Works Director Hodge concerning bids received for. a "Rubber Tire Loader". Four bids were received; the bid by Lansdowne-Moody Company did not meet bid specs. Low bid received was from Hyco Equip- ment Company in the amount of $53,423.00. This is within the budgeted amount of $55,000.00 Skelton: I have a question. In the specs on page 02, this doesn't show that this particular piece of equipment has the gauges No. XIII. Hodge: Yes, it does. Gay: Mr. Mayor, before we go on, this is quite a sum that is being spent, even though it was discussed in workshop. T would like to know what is this going to be used for? We are talking about spending $53,423, the public would really like to know. This would take a load off of my shoulders, also. •
