• <br />C7 <br />• Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />April 21, 1982, Page 11 <br />Mr. Hodge informed the Council of the loss of a motor at <br />water well #4 two weeks ago. The motor was replaced and <br />the damaged motor sent out for repairs. U.S. Electrical <br />Motors stated the motor was beyond repair. Hodge stated <br />the loss of another well could create a crisis situation <br />for the City water supply. Informal bids were taken for <br />a new 125 HP, vertical hollow shaft, 1800 RPM, 405 TP <br />frame, 460 volts. Hodge recommended the acceptance of the <br />bid submitted from Houston Armature Works due to immediate <br />delivery. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to declare an <br />emergency and authorize the acceptance of the Houston <br />Armature Works bid of 5,194.00 to e funded from the Water <br />and Sewer Contingency Fund. Second by Councilperson Gay. <br />The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone,. Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />• Mayor Cline proclaimed May 1982 "Operation Community Pride <br />Month." <br />City Attorney Askins asked for an executive session on a <br />legal contractural matter. <br />15. The City Council entered into an executive session at 8:25 <br />P.M. <br />The Council returned to the Council table at 10:16 P.M. <br />16.
