• •
ARITIME
SERVICES INC.
April 28, 1982
9640 CLINTON DR. P.O. BOX 33 GALENA PARK, TEXAS 77547
713-674-3544 TWX 910-881-7130
T0: THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF T~ PORTE, TEXAS
Maritime Services, Inc. respectfully requests the re-zoning of a
23.85 acre tract which we are in the process of purchasing from
Central Freight Lines, Inc. We request a zoning change with a
special use permit for the establishment of a container depot.
The tract boundaries are State Highway 146 on the east, E.I. Du Pont
De Numours & Co. on the north, Strang Road on the west or Union Carbide
Corporation, and Westinghouse Electric Corporation on the south.
The only major highway that this tract touches is State Highway 146.
The proposed tract is heavily wooded, fronting on State Highway 146.
We are, at this time, considering using the part of the tract that
fronts on State Highway 146 for a commercial development, i.e.t a
motel. There would be
container depot. In an
• not come about, we woul
along the front of the
necessary to cover the
happy to work with the
Sincerely,
a green belt between this development and the
y event, if the commercial development does
d not be adverse to having a green belt running
property and plant trees, or whatever else is
front of the property. We will be more than
City of La Porte in this regard.
~~~~~ %~ ~
LNi1ETH W. SCHMIDT, PRESIDENT
KWS:jl
