City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION <br />17(c), ORDINANCE NO. 1221 (EFFECTIVE JULY 16, 1980), <br />(NUMBERED AS CHAPTER 122, SECTION 122-1 OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE), "INDUSTRIAL TaASTE"; <br />CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE Tn7ITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to table the <br />ordinance as read by the City Attorney for further study. <br />Second by Councilperson Malone. The motion carried, 9 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br />Councilperson Matuszak stated he would advise the City Secre- <br />tary when he was satisfied the ordinance was ready to come <br />back to the Council. <br />Vote: Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />• 9. Council considered the transfer of funds for the acquisition <br />of park land. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Malone to authorize the <br />transfer of $12,000 from the Play Ground Equipment Fund, <br />10,000 from the 1980-81 Capital Improvement Fund and 4,000 <br />from the 1981-82 Capital Improvement Fund to purchase park <br />property. Second by Councilperson ~n7estergren. The motion <br />carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />10. Council considered the delivery of weekly agenda packages <br />to their home. <br />Councilperson Gay stated he has a problem getting his agenda <br />from his mailbox at City Hall and it is helpful for him to <br />have his delivered by someone, not necessarily a police officer. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Graves to no longer have <br />agenda packages delivered by the Police Department. Second <br />by Councilperson Longley. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br />• <br />
