• <br />• <br />• Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />Auqust 18, 1982, Page 2 <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Skelton approving and <br />adopting Resolution No. 82-16 as read and requesting t at <br />each of the Councilpersons have the opportunity to sign the <br />Resolution to be hung in the library. Second by Council- <br />person Matuszak. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Graves, Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Malone, <br />Longley, Matuszak and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />6. Council considered the outcome of the street priorities they <br />had set (each Councilperson rated unpaved streets from 1 as <br />greatest need to 61; the 9 sheets were then totaled and <br />averaged). A list of streets as set by Council are a part <br />of the official minutes of this meeting. After a thorough <br />consideration of the priority list of unpaved streets, Council <br />considered a recommendation by the Director of Public Works <br />concerning 7 of the top 11 streets on the priority list. <br />Five (5) of the streets have 850 of the engineering fee paid. <br />#l, Bois D'Arc; #2, San Jacinto; #3, Lomax Drive; #6, Shirley <br />• Lane; and #11, East Fieldcrest. The other two (2) streets <br />were #4, West Sunset Ridge and #5, North "L" Street east of <br />26th Street. It was the recommendation of the Public Works <br />Department that H. Carlos Smith complete the plans and speci- <br />fications on these 7 streets and prepare bid packages. The <br />remaining four (4) streets, Browning - #7, Ohio - D to E - <br />#8; Nugent - E to 400' south - #9; and North First - Madison <br />to Barbour's Cut - #10, be paved by City crews. After lengthy <br />discussion, a motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to ap- <br />prove the priority list as presented and to accept and approve <br />the recommendation by Director of Public Works Hodge for the <br />paving of the top eleven (11) unimproved streets with the addi- <br />tion of Adams from Broadway to North 9th if funds permit. <br />Second by Councilperson Malone. The motion carried, 8 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Graves, Pfeiffer, Gay, .Skelton, Malone, <br />Longley, Matuszak and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />7. Council considered approving the replacement of a fire-damaged <br />police vehicle after reviewing a report on the incident by <br />Chief Freeman. A motion was made by Councilperson Graves to <br />approve the purchase of one Impala Police Package Ve is e from <br />Jay Marks C evrolet at a cost of 10,110.00 to e purc ase from <br />our Self-Insurance Fund, Account No. 60 -601. Secon y <br />• Councilperson Gay. The motion Carrie 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
