• <br />• <br />• Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />August 18, 1982, Page 6 <br />Councilperson Malone reported the Solicitors Ordinance Study <br />Committee is at this time reviewing a proposed Ordinance and <br />anticipate submitting their recommendations to the City At- <br />torney for review within a few days. <br />Councilperson Matuszak stated the Annexation Study Committee <br />has not met as yet nor have they set a date for a meeting. <br />18. Council Action: <br />Councilperson Graves asked that the Council consider setting <br />guidelines for the Industrial Development Board at the Septem- <br />ber 1st Council meeting. <br />Councilperson Malone asked that the request by Red Cross be <br />placed on the August 30t:h Workshop agenda. <br />Councilperson Matuszak requested that workshops be moved back <br />to City Hall. He stated he found the Service Center uncom- <br />fortable, distracting and not conducive to a good meeting. <br />• This request met with Council approval and it was agreed that <br />the workshop set for August 30 would be held in City Hall. <br />Mayor Cline reported on the Main Street Program she had at- <br />tended in Austin. <br />Mayor Cline read a letter from Senator Chet Brooks concerning <br />his support of efforts to have an overpass built on SH 146 <br />at Fairmont Parkway. <br />Councilperson Matuszak expressed concern about the bridge at <br />Hill Ridge over Big Island Slough. He felt it was becoming a <br />potential hazard. <br />Mayor Cline stated she would ask Mr. Green of Flood Control <br />to join her and they would take a look at the bridge to see <br />what could be done. <br />19. The Council saw no need for an Executive Session at this time. <br />20. There being no further business to be brought before the Council, <br />the meeting was duly adjourned at 9:10 P.M. <br />• <br />
