<br />• LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING <br />1982-83 BUDGET <br />SEPTEMBER 8, 1982 <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Cline at 7:00 P.M. <br />Members of the Council Present: Mayor Cline, Councilpersons <br />Norman Malone, John Longley, Ed Matuszak, Kevin Graves, Lindsay <br />Pfeiffer, Deotis Gay, Don Skelton, Linda Tnlestergren <br />Members of the Council Absent: None <br />Members of the City Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, City <br />Secretary Betty Waters, Director of Administrative Services Bob <br />Herrera, Chief of Police H. F. Freeman, Fire Chief Joe Sease, <br />Director of Parks and Recreation Stan Sherwood, Fire Marshal <br />Paul Hickenbottom, Director of Public Works Jerry Hodge, Chief <br />Inspector David Paulissen, Graduate Engineer John Joerns <br />Others Present: Frieda Beaty, Baytown Sun; Dick Bell, Bayshore <br />Sun; 15 citizens <br />• Mayor Cline stated the purpose of this Public Hearing is to pre- <br />sent the proposed 1982-83 budget of the City of La Porte for a <br />public review. <br />City Manager Owen reviewed and summarized the proposed Budgets, <br />General Fund, Water and Wastewater, Capital Improvement, Motor <br />Pool and Revenue Sharing. <br />Mayor Cline asked if there was anyone present in the Chambers <br />wishing to address the budget. <br />Mr. B. J. Faulkner spoke concerning total budget figures and taxes. <br />Mr. Beaurinsen spoke concerning waste in the budget. <br />Mr. Como discussed water and sewer charges. <br />There being no further comments to be heard, Mayor Cline declared <br />the Public Hearing closed at 7:48 P.M. <br />Respectfully submitted: <br />~~~ <br />tt T.
