City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE <br />NO. 1285-A, "AN ORDINANCE IMPLEMENTING POLICEMEN'S CIVIL <br />SERVICE; ESTABLISHING CLASSIFICATIONS; NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED <br />POSITIONS IN EACH CLASSIFICATTON; ESTABLISHING PAY SCHEDULES; <br />CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAL9; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Longley to approve and <br />adopt Ordinance No. 1285-B as read by the City Attorney. <br />• Second by Councilperson Matuszak. City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, SECTION 6-18, <br />CONCERNING PERMISSIBLE FEES AND CHARGES FOR THE TOWING OF <br />VEHICLES IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON <br />VIOLATING T'~E TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY <br />OF A MISDEMEANOR AND UPON CONVICTION SHALL BE FINED IN ANY <br />SUM NOT MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00); AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Graves to approve and adopt <br />Ordinance No. 1035-B as read by the City Attorney.
