The meeting was called to order by Mayor Cline at 7:00 P.M. <br />Members of the City Council Present: Councilpersons John <br />Longley, Ed Matuszak, Kevin Graves, Lindsay Pfeiffer, Deotis <br />Gay and Mayor Virginia Cline <br />Members of the City Council Absent: Councilpersons Linda <br />Westergren, Don S e ton <br />Members of the City Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, <br />City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Betty Waters, <br />Public Works Director Jerry Hodge, Director of Administrative <br />Services Bob Herrera, Chief Inspector David Paulissen, <br />Inspector Mark Lewis, Graduate Engineer John Joerns <br />• Others Present: Representatives of the Press (4); 9 inter- <br />ested citizens <br />2. The invocation was given by City Attorney Askins. <br />3. The Council considered the minutes of the Regular Meeting of <br />La Porte City Council held September 15, 1982. A motion was <br />made by Councilperson Pfeiffer to accept and approve the <br />minutes as presented. Second by Councilperson Gay. The <br />m to ion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Longley, Matuszak, Graves, Pfeiffer, <br />Gay and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />4. Mayor Cline recognized the Public Works Employee of the month. <br />5. The engineering firm of Busch, Hutchison, Inc., opened and <br />read bids received on the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project. <br />Bids received were as follows: <br />Shur-Flo, Inc. $985,675. <br />Channel Constru ction Co., Inc. 982,436. <br />Jesse Lovelace Const. Co. 755,6.45. <br />Mar Len, Inc. 659,085. <br />• Reliance Const. Co. 552,392. <br />McCullough Asso c., Inc. 561,690. <br />John Reynolds & Sons, Inc. 673,080. <br />Rehabilitation Specialists 714,905. <br />Worthen Const. Co., Inc. 620,705. <br />
