It was brought to Council's attention the Police Department <br />has accumulated numerous bicycles and they are running out <br />of storage room. Lt. LaFitte requested an auction be authorized <br />to accomplish two purposes: (1) to provide an opportunity for <br />some child to get a bicycle for Christmas and (2) to provide <br />room in the Police storage area. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Graves to hold a bicycle <br />auction Saturday, December 4, 1982, at 10:00 A.M., in the <br />I. J. Kibodeaux Service Center yard. Second by Counci1person <br />Matuszak. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mayor Cline stated than an oppontunity would be given prior <br />to the auction for anyone to properly identify their bicycle <br />to the satisfaction of the Police Chief. <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />Council considered the recommendation of Parks Director <br />Stan Sherwood concerning the renovating of the La Porte Muni- <br />cipal Swimming Pool. After some discussion concerning the <br />amount of the bid and local availability, a motion was made <br />by Councilperson Matuszak to table this matter until the next <br />regular meeting to give Sherwood time to check with local <br />establishments on this job. Second by Councilperson Wester- <br />gren. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />Consent Agenda: At the request of the Mayor, items A, H, <br />L, M, N, and 0 were removed. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />B. City Attorney Askins read Ordinance No. 1337.: AN ORDINANCE <br />DECLARING THE BUILDING LOCATED ON LOT 22-.26, BLOCK 198, TOWN OF <br />LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, TO BE IN FACT A NUISANCE; <br />ORDERING SUCH BUILDING CONDEMNED; FINDING THAT R. R. PROPERTIES <br />IS THE RECORD OWNER OF SAID PROPERTY; ORDERING THE SAID OWNER <br />TO ENTIRELY REMOVE OR TEAR DOWN SUCH BUILDING; ORDERING THE <br />SAID OWNER TO COMMENCE SAID REMOVAL OR DEMOLITION WITHIN TEN <br />(10) DAYS FROM THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE;' ORDERING <br />THE FIRE CHIEF TO PLACE A NOTICE ON SAID BUILDING; ORDERING THE <br />CITY SECRETARY TO FORWARD A COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE TO SAID <br />
