Council considered Resolution No. 83-10, authorizing James <br />Benefits to draft checks for benefits from the City Medical <br />Fund. <br />After explanation by .City Manager Owen and a summary of the <br />resolution by City Attorney Askins, motion was made b <br />Council erson Matuszak to a cove and a o t Reso ution No. <br />83-10 as ex~ ained. Second. by Counci person Skelton. The <br />motion carried $-ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Longley, Matuszak, Graves, Pfeiffer, <br />Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />11. Council considered Ordinance 780-DDD-.A, to rezone Outlot 62, <br />La Porte Outlots. This outlot was inadvertently left off <br />the original Ordinance 780.-DDD. <br />City Attorneg Askins read: AN ORDINANCE. AMENDING ORDINANCE <br />N0. 780, THE CITY OF LA PORTE ZONING ORDINANCE, BY CHANGING <br />.THE CLASSIFICATION OF THAT CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN <br />DESCRIBED; AND. PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to approve and adopt <br />Ordinance No. 780-DDD.-A as read b the Ct Attorne Second <br />by Councilperson Westergren. T e motion carried, 8 ayes and <br />0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Longley, Matuszak, Graves, Pfeiffer, <br />Gay, Skelton, Westergren .and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />12. Administrative Reports: <br />City Manager Owen requested an executive session on pending <br />litigation. <br />13. Council Action: <br />Longley: Enjoyed the ride on the aerial fire truck. <br />Matuszak: Would like the staff to begin ground work on the <br />sign or finance. Would like Council to be provided with copy <br />of Civil Defense plan and asked that the plan be updated. <br />He would like to see a practice held once a year. <br />He likes the idea of giving employee awards for safety. <br />Would like to reinstate the policy of putting the originator's <br />name with their agenda items. <br />
