Motion was made by Counci1person Malone to accept low bid an~ <br /> award bid to Utility Supply. Second by Councilperson Matuszak. <br /> The motion carried, 8 ayes, o nays. Counci1person Westergren <br /> had left the Council table. <br /> Ayes: Counci1persons Pfeiffer, Longley, Gay, Skelton, Graves, <br /> Malone, Matuszak, Mayor Cline <br /> Nays: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> 7. Council considered the request of Liquid Air for potable water <br /> outside the City limits. <br /> Mayor.C1ine requested a brief executive session with City <br /> Attorney Askins and City Manager Owen before considering <br /> this item. <br /> It was so moved by Counci1person Malone and seconded by <br /> Counci1person Gay. <br /> 8. Council adjourned into executive session at approximately <br /> 7:25 P.M. and returned to the Council table at approximately <br /> 7:50 P.M. <br />. Motion was made bI Council person Gay to furnish potable water <br /> outside the City imits to Liquid Air providin~ the following <br /> requirements are met: (1) payment in full of all delinquent <br /> taxes as well as the 1983 taxes, ( 2) execution of the City's <br /> standard Industrial Contract agreement, (3) camp liance with, <br /> all other reg~lations imposed on water users outside the City, <br /> limits, (4) that Liquid Air will drop all claims they have <br /> ,a~ainst the City of La Porte. Second by Councilperson Skelton. <br /> T e motion carried, 7 ayes, 0 nays. Counci1person Pfeiffer <br /> had left the Council table. <br /> Ayes: Counci1persons Longley, Gay, Skelton, Graves, Malone, <br /> Matuszak, Mayor Cline <br /> Nays: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> Mayor Cline asked if any Councilmembers had anything to report. <br /> Counci1personGraves: The La Porte Area Emergency Corps Board <br /> met today and gave a plaque to the current board of directors. <br /> A lot of good things are happening in the Ambulance Corps; they <br /> are now tax exempt; they received a letter from an area ,hospital, <br /> one sent~nce which says, "Your professional attitude. . .personne1 <br /> is to be commended." And that makes me feel good. Everything <br /> is being ironed out--al1 the little problems they've been having. <br />. The only problem they still have is the one on answering calls <br /> south of the City limits and will try to work on that. <br /> / <br />
