Charges <br />for vehicles, boats, and supplies are described in paragraph <br />3. below. <br />3. For all direct nonlabor expense, including surveying sup- <br />plies, transportation, telegraph and telephone toll charges, <br />reproduction, etc., and travel and subsistence for the <br />Engineer's officers and staff, all as required for the proper <br />execution of the work and for all .work subcontracted, the <br />charge is the actual invoice cost plus a 10 percent service <br />charge. Travel by vehicles owned or leased by the Engineer <br />shall be at 35 cents per mile, except that travel by survey <br />crew vehicles owned or leased by SURVCON INC. shall be at <br />the rate of 40 cents per mile. Small boats owned or leased <br />by SURVCON will be charged at the rate of 512.00 per day <br />without motor and 522.00 with motor. Use of large boats <br />will be covered by separate agreement, as needed. <br />4. For outside services, such as making soil borings and per- <br />forming laboratory tests on soil samples or retaining special <br />consultants, Authority may, at its option, contract directly <br />with a third party for such services, or through Turner <br />Collie & Braden Inc., a handling charge of 10 percent will <br />be added to the net amount of such contracts. <br />5. Payments to Engineer for authorized services will be due <br />upon presentation of monthly statements by Engineer for such <br />services until 85 percent of the authorization has been paid. <br />Upon review of the Preliminary Draft, the Authority will pay <br />any unpaid amount of outstanding statements up to 90 percent <br />of the authorization. If, however, the Authority does not <br />review the Preliminary Draft and schedule the Technical <br />Review Session within 30 days of submittal of the Preliminary <br />Draft, the Authority shall pay the Engineer the full sum <br />~3 <br />3- <br />0 <br />
