Administrative Reports: <br /> <br />Jerry Hodge, Director of Public Works, reported to Council <br />on his meeting with the Chamber of Commerce to discuss a <br />"Clean Up-Green Up" for La Porte. Hodge stated he had <br />met with Paul Green, a member of Commissioner Fonteno's <br />staff, and Green is preparing landscaping plans for the <br />esplanade in Fairmont Parkway all the way to Sylvan Beach <br />and further stated he would be complete or near complete <br />by Sylvan Beach Day (April 30). All Green is requesting <br />is water taps on each of the islands. <br /> <br />City Manager Owen requested an executive session on a <br />personnel matter. <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Counci1person Matuszak expressed concern with a catch basin <br />created by work which had been done by the Jennie Reid <br />Elementary School. Matuszak asked that someone check on <br />the lights left burning on the Fairmont Park ball field when <br />no one was on the field. <br /> <br />Counci1person Pfeiffer suggested a notice be sent to con- <br />tractors about the increased bond required under the amended <br />"Building Code Ordinance." <br /> <br />Counci1person Westergren congratulated the La Porte Texans <br />War on Drugs Committee for a job well done February 26. <br /> <br />Mayor Cline called for a motion to retire into an executive <br />session to discuss a legal and a personnel matter. Counci1- <br />person Westergren made a motion for executive session. <br />Second by Counci1person Pfeiffer. The motion carried, 6 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Counci1persons Matuszak, Graves, Pfeiffer, Skelton, <br />Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />15. <br /> <br />The Council retired into executive session at 7:55 P.M. <br /> <br />Council returned to the Council table at 9:47 P.M. <br />
