<br />A motion was made by Councilperson Pfeiffer to approve and
<br />adopt Ordinance No. 1134-A as read. Second by Councilperson
<br />Gay. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays.

<br />12. City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING
<br />AND CLOSING ALL OF THE ALLEYS IN BLOCK SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY-
<br />THREE (733) AND SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY-FOUR (734), TN THE TOWN
<br />OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS
<br />A motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to table action
<br />on the ordinance as read until utility verifications have
<br />been made with the proper au orities. Second by Councilperson
<br />Longley. The motion carried, 8 ayes and l nay.

<br />Nays: Councilperson Westergren
<br />13. Council considered information concerning Water Well #5
<br />(25th Street). After reviewing the information concerning
<br />the need for repairs, Council considered declaring an emergency.
<br />A motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to declare an ezner-
<br />gency on the 25th Street-Water We au prize Layne Texas
<br />Water Well Company to do the needed repairs, and allocating
<br />$12,000 from the Water and Sewer Contingency to ma e t e
<br />repairs. Second by Counci person Graves. T e motion carried,
<br />9 ayes and 0 nays.

<br />AND SUMMER, AND AMENDING THE DEFINITION OF GAME HALL; FURTHER
<br />AMENDING CHAPTER 4 1/2, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 4 1/2-18, BY CHANGING
<br />THE HOURS OF OPERATION THAT GAME HALLS P,S DEFINED MAY REMAIN
