Don S e ton, Deotis Gay, Lindsay Pfeiffer, Kevin Graves, Ed Matuszak, John Longley, Norman Malone Members of the City Council Absent: Councilperson Linda Westergren Members of the Cit Staff Present.: City Manager Jack Owen, City Attorney Knox As ns, Assistant City Secretary Cherie Black, Chief of Police Herb Freeman, Chief Building Official David Paulissen, Purchasing Agent Jackson Ray, Parks and Recre- ation Director Stan Sherwood, Fire Chief Joe Sease, Graduate Engineer John Joerns, Data Processing Coordinator Bob Graf .Others Present: Mike Martinez, La Porte Area Emergency Ambu- • ance Corps manager; Mrs. Juliet Chatman; Charlie Perry; Jan Lammers, The Lammers Partnership; Jim Haueisen, Pasadena Cable TV; Melissa Lestarjette, Bayshore Sun-Broadcaster; Frieda Beaty, Baytown Sun; Jeff Patterson, Southeast Weekly; 17 interested citizens 2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Norman Malone. 3. Council considered approving the minutes of the Regular Meeting of the La Porte City Council held May 5, 1983. Motion was made b Council erson Skelton to a rove the minutes as resented. Second by Councilperson Pfeiffer. The motion carried, ayes and 0 YL~.ys . Ayes: Goun~cilpersons Skelton, Gay, Pfeiffer, Graves, Matuszak, Longley, Malone and Mayor Cline Nays: None 4. Mrs. Sonja Angelo was not present to receive a proclamation for "Sonja Angelo Day" due to being out of town. This proclamation will be presented to Mrs. Angelo at a later date. 5. A proclamation was presented to Police Chief Herb Freeman pro- claiming May 15 through 21, 1983, as "Police Week." • 6. Mr. Jim Haueisen, Pasadena Cable System General Manager, presented a status report on cable TV in this area.
