Gate Valves. and Fire Hydrants Advertised , sealed bid 00010 was opened and read is City Council Chambers July 15. l983. Vendors submitted pricing on pipe, fittings, gate valves, and fire hydrants which the City of La Porte will purchase on an as needed basin fos inventory. Bid packages were mailed to nine vendors with the following five returning bids: (1) Utility Supply, (2) Ronan Co., (3) Golden Trian le (S) Dixie Chemical Co. Commodities were divided into sections ~th bid iawardsd based upon low total per section. Recommendations are as follows: Section I. A: PVC Pi e: Award annual fixed price contract to Ronan Co. for second low total of 46,172. Low bidder was Golden Triangle at $45,312 but prices were firm for only fourty-five (45)~ days. Section I. B: PVC Fittin ss Award annual fixed price contract to Utility Supply Inc. for low total of 2,662.55. Section II. A: Cast Iron Fittin ss Award annual fixed price contract to Utility Supply Inc. for low total o $17.305.75. Section II. B: Gates Valves: Award aaaual fixed price contract to Utility Supply Inc. for low total of $12,059.59. Section III. Fire H drants: Award aaaual fixed price contract to Utility Supply Inc. for low total of 22.336.10. Section IV. Miscellaneous: Award annual fixed price contract to Golden Triangle for low bid of $1.06 lb. on Dry Granular Chlorine. I trust the aforementioned recommendations will meet your approval.
