Second by Councilperson Matuszak. The <br />mot10n carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren, <br />Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />6. Council considered awarding a bid for demolition. <br /> <br />Council erson Wester ren to award the <br />b1 for emo 1t10n to Daniels' Dump Truck Hauling. Second <br />by Councilperson Skelton. The motion carried, 9 ayes and <br />o nays. <br /> <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren, <br />Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />7. Council considered closing the alley in Block 830, Town of <br />La Porte. <br /> <br />City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING <br />AND CLOSING ALL OF THE ALLEY IN BLOCK EIGHT HUNDRED THIRTY <br />(830), IN THE TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Ordinance <br />1381 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Pfeiffer. The motion carried, 7 ayes, 1 nay. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Pfeiffer, Skelton, Westergren, Malone, <br />Longley, Matuszak and Graves <br />Nays: Mayor Cline <br /> <br />Councilperson Gay was away from the Council table at <br />this time. <br /> <br />P8 . <br /> <br />Jimmie Ray Spradling spoke to Council regarding his feelings <br />on the inequity of the sewer rate in comparison to the water <br />rate and the fact that not all water went through the sewer. <br />He asked if there was a solution, at least for the summer <br />months, when people water their yards and plants. <br /> <br />Paula Bridges spoke to Council regarding water/sewer/garbage <br />rate increase. She feels it is totally out of line in com- <br />parison with neighboring cities' rates. <br />
