Mr. Jim Sullivan of Kay Homes spoke to Council in favor <br />of the annexation of Spenwick MUD and College View MUD. <br />6. Council considered annexation of College. View and Spenwick <br />MUDs. <br />Mayor Cline asked for discussion from Council. Councilperson <br />Longley asked if there had been any contact with the County <br />in doing road repair work in that area. Mayor Cline replied <br />in the negative. <br />Mr. Herrera explained to Council that the time frame for <br />annexing these areas is very short in able to get them on <br />the tax rolls by January. Mayor Cline and City Attorney Knox <br />Askins reviewed the schedule needed to finalize the annexa- <br />tion. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Pfeiffer to proceed with <br />the annexation as outlined by City Attorney Askins. Second <br />by Counclperson Westergren. The motion carried, 6 ayes and <br />3 nays. <br />• Ayes: Councilpersons Gay, Skelton, Westergren, Malone, .Longley <br />and Pfeiffer <br />Nays: Councilpersons Matuszak, Graves and-Mayor Cline <br />7. Council considered amending-the Subdivision Ordinance to <br />reflect changes to Houston Lighting & Power easement require- <br />ments. The Ordinance reads as follows: ORDINANCE N0. 705-K - <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION 4.03(10), "FINAL OR RECORDED <br />PLAT" OF SECTION 4, "PROCEDURE", OF ORDINANCE N0. 705 (AN <br />ORDINANCE PROVIDING RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE PLAT- <br />TING OR REPLATTING OF LAND INTO SUBDIVISIONS. IN THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE AND WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE); AMENDING. SUBSECTION 5.08(2), "EASEMENTS", <br />OF SECTION 5, "GENERAL STANDARDS FOR SUBDIVISIONS", OF SAID <br />ORDINANCE NO. 705; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE <br />TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MIS- <br />DEMEANOR AND UPON CONVICTION SHALL BE FINED IN ANY SUM NOT <br />MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00); CONTAINING.SEVER- <br />ABILiTY AND REPEP;LING CLAUSES; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to amend the sub- <br />division ordinance to reflect changes to`Houston Lighting <br />an Power easement requirements. Second by Counci person <br />Matuszak..
