• <br />~: <br />SECTION 5. Every dwelling unit within an existing apart- <br />ment house, and every guest room in a hotel, motel, or boarding <br />house, and every basement or cellar within such dwellings with- <br />in the City of La Porte shall meet the requirements of this <br />Ordinance, as amended, within five years, with a minimum of <br />(20~) of the total number of dwelling units having smoke detec- <br />tors installed each year. The time period shall begin November <br />1, 1977. <br />CHANGE T0: <br />SECTION 5. Existing Multi-Family Dwellings <br />a. The owner or authorized representative of an existing condo- <br />minium, duplex, townhouse, apartment house, hotel, motel or <br />boarding house in an area annexed by the City of La Porte, must <br />install smoke detectors as specified in Section 3 of this Ordi- <br />nance, within one (1) year from the official annexation date. <br />b. The owner or authorized representative of an existing condo- <br />minium, duplex, townhouse, apartment house, hotel, motel or <br />boardinghouse now situated within the City of La Porte, must <br />install smoke detectors as specified in Section 3 of this Ordi- <br />nance, within thirty (30) days from the official notification <br />date. <br /> <br />
