There is~a recommendation forthcoming from the consultants on the transportation plan that I don't know if it goes across H, but H is part of the east-west thoroughfare, if I remember right. Malone: One more thing, Mayor. I'd like to thank Jerry, Mr.•Owen and the rest of the staff for the work they're doing. I've had real good cooperation with them. • Longley: Explained how he solved his dog problem. Also, Jerry's doing a good job taking down the Fairmont sewer plant. Cline: Reiterated the report on the Washington trip. The highlight was seeing the~President and hearing him speak. • Had putt a copy in Councils mail box a resolution presented to the Chamber of Commerce pertaining to TXTX Corporation. The people in Shoreacres and that area have been having a real problem with them. They have made~a permit to the Corps of Engineers to construct a bulk transfer facility in the vicinity of Barbour's Cut terminal. They have not been required to give an invironmental impact statement and that has everyone puzzled and a little upset. The date for comments deadline was March 12; however, Mr. McElvogue of Morgan's~Point said today that that is going to be extended. I would like for the City of La Porte to consider whether or not they would have~any comments or to go on record as to any comments as to this facility being relocated to upper Galveston Bay. Pfeiffer: ~I had some conversation with Dr. Yoder, who lives in the residential area closest to it, and they had .some new carpet ruined from tracking the coal dust, or whatever it is, in from the back yard. I would like to see the City write a letter and go on record as opposing the relocation. Skelton: I hear the noise from this plant presently, and I am just across the bay from them. Unless you are a real sound sleeper, it will bother you all night, and so I think once they move further east it will probably be~less. • Cline: The purpose of Mr. McElvogue ~preseriting~the resolution today was to ask for a public hearing to beheld on this so people could get some answers to their questions and make this
