Council Action: <br />Graves: I'll be brief, but one of our detectives worked on a <br />ca~ich made the news. It's very commendable how he <br />organized and coordinated surveilance which wound up with a <br />very good narcotics bust. I appreciate the work, time and <br />effort that was put in. This detective was Thomas Neeley. <br />Pfeiffer: I have nothing <br />Gam: I apologize for being late and thank everyone for <br />coming out tonight. <br />Skelton: Nothing <br />Wester rep: I'd like to inquire about the pocket park in <br />District .. I'd like to see something done with this. <br />Malone: Congratulated Jackson "Boy Wonder" Ray on his <br />receiving his certified purchasing agent title, only 25 of <br />these in the area. <br />Lon le Congratulations and thanks to Mr .: Hovey, Debbie Cole <br />Bo Herrera and the gang in the Finance department. This <br />is the most informative financial packet I've ever looked at. <br />• Matuszak: Have we initiated any action to start a study <br />concerning a traffic light at Farrington & Spencer? Mr. <br />Owen stated that this will be initiated and that contact <br />will be made with the county. The sewer lift station at <br />Creekmont needs to be looked at. Was told that fence is <br />down and lights are out. This could be a safety hazard. <br />On the bond sale that we had,we went out of town to <br />deposit the funds, why was that? Jack Owen: In order to <br />get the funds an escrow agreement was drawn up to satisfy <br />the state whereas they were deposited for 15 days as not to <br />loose the interest. When asked about the interest rates <br />Mr. Owen stated that we keep a check on the rates constantly <br />so as to get the highest rate. <br />Cline: Stated she would like to have Council support the <br />work on the banking resolution from HCMCA. She has a copy <br />which came with the last letter from them. Finalization <br />on transfer' . of maintenance of the traffic lights was discussed. <br />A letter had been received requesting when addressing 26th <br />Street, address it as such and not Sens Road. <br />Property owners improrving streets to their property was <br />mentioned. Between 14th and 15th Street south of 13th it <br />seems that there are truck loads of dirt dumped in 14th St. <br />right of way. Jerry Hodge stated that he was not aware of <br />• City trucks dumping there. <br /> <br />The Mayors report on her visit to Austin concerning the bridge <br />over the ship channel to replace the tunnel stated that the <br />governor and several key people indicated that we may be <br />
